  1. Hey Brit - unfortunstly i sm one of the millions of Americans without Health insurance.

    I only use Valtrex - not the generic...the other stuff just doesnt work for me!

    Fortunatly for me I have HSV-1 which is oral (cold Sores) and only pop up once in a while - however the pharmacy charges me a crazy amoun of $45 for like 5 pills

    my doctor gives me full scrips  - but i only get 5-6 pills at a time... saves on cash.

    If you need them daily I recomend switching to generic.  Walmart $4 for the whole month.

    good luck!

  2. It looks like a non easy cracking nut,looking arount here,you may find something useful for you.http://health-insurance.expert-tip.info/...

  3. I just got a Rx filled yesterday and with my insurance I paid $30.00 for my co-pay, but underneath it tells the amount my insurance saved and it said my insurance saved me $210.00 --- so I'm guessing a 30 day supply is close to $250.00 without any kind of insurance.

    Have you tried looking into any kind of patient assistance programs or things of that sort ?  They can help you save money on prescriptions if you are uninsured.

    Good Luck to You.

  4. You can get get Valtrex cheaper if you get it from Planned Parenthood.  Otherwise, you could try the generic acyclovir (Zovirax) and get it for $4.00 30 day supply or $10.00 90 day supply from Walmart.

  5. valtrex is very expensive, http://the-med-store.com/?product=valtre... but alternatives like http://the-med-store.com/?product=zovira... are much cheaper, but only your doctor and you can decide which is safe for you and which works

  6. Got d**n that's a lot to pay! I guess I had better insurance b/c my copay was never over $15. What you do is stay away from the brand-names. The generics:

    valtrex -> valacyclovir...this may not be a generic yet

    famvir -> famcyclovir

    zovirax? -> acyclovir

    you can google the generics to see how much they cost, but they will be waayyyy cheaper. also some prescription websites have coupons...i know you used to be able to get them from valtrex website

  7. in Ontario Canada (where i live) it was about $60 for 12 pills at strength of 500mg (before taxes) and that was with out a drug plan (i believe that would be the equivalency of having insurance in the US).

    there are cheaper meds out there that do relatively the same thing as Valtrex.
