At our wedding we are having wine at dinner, and then a toonie bar afterwards.

How much wine should I buy for dinner? There will be 90 adults at dinner. Do I buy equal red and white?

  1. At my sisters wedding she provided her own wine and paid the corking fee.  They opened one bottle of red and white for each table, (but the bottles weren't left on the table because people waste more wine that way) and they had a 1/2 bottle leftover from each table.  Plus the same wine was poured at the bar.

I think budgeting a bottle of each per table should be enough for dinner, but hers was an open bar, so with a toonie bar, people might tend to drink more of the wine provided.

    Good Luck!

  2. Try this website, it calculates the amount of alcohol you need for an event:

  3. We had one bottle of red and one bottle of white per table, and then about 10 extra bottles, about 6 red, 4 white.  And that was for 105 adults.  But we also had a free bar with a limit of 3 drinks per person.

We did have some left over wine, but I don't remember how many bottles.  Some liquor stores will allow you to return unopened bottles.

  4. buy more white than red cuz most ppl drink white wine.

  5. There are roughly 4 glasses of wine in a bottle.  I would assume that every person will drink about 2 glasses of wine.  You will of course have people that will drink more, and then people that will not drink at all.  So, I would estimate 1 bottle for every 2 people.  If you have some heavy drinkers, I would order 5 to 10 extra bottles.

  6. ah toonie bar. let me warn you people are going to call yout acky for that on here. ignore them. they don't understand that their way ISN'T the only way,.

I would go with equal red to white UNLESS you know for a fact that only 2 people like red or something like that. I would put one biottle of each on each table, and ask the servers to hold a few unopened bottles in the back in case people want more, but not to open them until they are needed (that way you canr eturn any unused)
