  1. It ultimately depends on the insurance company you have . They are the ones that gave you the contract they are the ones that will tell you how much the increase will be. Like any insurance the bigger liability you are the more you pay

  2. Well it all depends doesn't it. It depends how much no claims discount you've got, how old you are, how long you've been driving, what car you've got and your s*x.

In other words, it'll be quite a bit. Try ringing your current insurer and ask them for a re-quote.

  3. Thats not a good thing, as you obviously already know. However, progressive is going to charge you  for full-coverage insurance around 300 dollars a month. If you have just liablilty insurance your going to be paying up to... 150 a month, maybe a little bit more. you can get free quotes obviously from any insurance company. Its going to cost you alot. I know, i've got 4 points, no accidents, pay 280 a month full coverage.

  4. If you haven't had any accidents (claims) in 4 years then your insurance shouldn't go up at all! Could quite possibly go down in price, but not 100% sure though.

One thing I do know is speeding fines and loss of points due to speeding fines don't affect your insurance however if you have lost your licence due to speeding fines then there is a good chance it will go up.

Your insurance should go down a fair bit after u turn 25 regardless of claims or loss of licence as to how much depends on your claims record and how you lost your licence if it was the case which in your case it is not.

Bottom line is your insurance won't go up unless you have a different car (more expensive/ modified or certain type eg. A ute or a truck insurance I higher than a car, a 6 cylinder car insurance would be higher than a 4 cylinder.

Well I hope I have cleared it up for you.

This is based on my own knowledge as a driver im 25 and have had a few accidents only one my fault which affected my no claim therefore raised my insurance but my insurance dropped considerably when I turned 25.

  5. I would just go on to some wesbties where they give you free no oblication quotes and see what happens when you put it in with either no points or 6 points

  6. Mine has 6 points too. It went up around £60.

I'm a safe driver but got caught very slightly higher than the limit on an empty road in the middle of the night somewhere I'm not familiar with. I'm paying the price now, while the boy racers who drive like maniacs get away with it.

You have my sympathy! I'm NOT a dangerous driver but I'm suffering financially due to the money making machines that are speed cameras. The laws for speeding were brought in when drivers had to be caught by a police car chasing them. Nowadays, normal, good drivers get caught all the time by cameras and are punished in the same way as those who in the past, would have had to be clearly going much too fast and spotted and flagged down by a police officer in a car.

  7. if you go onto direct line website it will give you quick quote, no obligation, then you can see what the difference is x

  8. For car insurance the best way to get a great quote is do a rate comparison on auto policies. Make certain that you compare similar options with the same limits, auto model, location, etc so that all options are a good comparison.

What I usually recommend is an online comparison quote at http://www.lowratetoday.com since they have big name insurers and will give several quotes on car insurance polices.

  9. It is gonna take a while to  find the answer for your question on internet.I provide a related and good resource here for your reference.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  10. Try searching it on car insurance websites like axa. You can get a quote from them. Generally your insurance will go up because they consider you as a greater danger on the roads.

  11. I had 6 points till march there and then 3 of them came off.  When I was shopping round for insurance via internet i only put in 3 points but when I added on the other 3 some companies wouldn't let me go any further.  DEpends how many no claims you have as well and your age etc....but remember and do include your points in case you are in an accident as otherwise it'll not be valid.  Good luck.

You have same amount of no claims as me and roughly same age, you'll be fine, not all ins companies may take you onbut it isn't going to put your premuims up by too much, don't panic but be honest!xx

Fill this in to get your answer.

  13. it all depends on what the points were for....

drink driving is worse than, say, carless driving...thats the way the insurance companys look at it

  14. For a driver with your criteria, it might not make a massive difference. You could use a comparison site to check the best price WITH the 6 points for when you renew.

When your first set of points is 3 years old, some insurers do not take them into account and might be cheaper.

    Try the links below:

  15. Should it make a difference? I'm in France not the UK but I know that here the insurer doesn't get to know about if you have points or not, and we don't go around teling them either.

They're concerned with whether you have had accidents, not speeding.

May be totally different in the UK though.
