Question:

How much would I get at a junkyard for a 1964 Ford Falcon?

I am in MA. The car is in pretty good shape. I had it running then it stopped running and then some girl hit the door and ripped it off when I was about to get out of it. I need it gone and I was wondering if I should sell it for parts or restoration or sell it to a junkyard.

  1. You should be able to sell it to someone for restoration. Unless it is really a rust bucket, there are many car enthusiasts out there who truly recognize the value of this classic car. And it is a classic car! Only part it out if you cannot sell it but even without a door, there is a market demand for this car with collectors. You never sell this type of car to a junkyard. I really don't know where you live but here in Calif. your car would sell quickly. Just check some collector car sources and you will get some hits. Of course, you do what you just got to do, that's life, isn't it?

  2. How badly was it damaged?

Whatever you do, don't sell it to a junk-yard! They'll s***w you over any which way they can. At the very lest, I'm sure your Falcon has several good parts on it...and some of those Falcon parts are pretty hard to find. I'd suggest putting it on eBay Motors with a reserve and go from there.

If I lived closer to you (I'm in California), I'd be showing up at your door with some money and a trailer...

  3. nooooo, dont take it to a junkyard!!! a piece of history will be lost forever. please. they will only give you about two hundred-ish. sell it to someone to restore for 2-5 hundred if you really want to get rid of it

  4. Either sell it for parts or restoration.

Please don't junk it, these are great cars.

I live in WV so I can't take it off your hands.

  5. Go to collectorcartrader (Autotrader's sister site) and at least TRY to sell that dude. If the body's straight and the rust isn't bad, someone will take it off your hands.

  6. A junkyard will pay you "Scrap Value,"  which goes by-the-pound, and isn't very much.    A restorer on the other hand will pay an honest price, as he knows that he can restore the car to today's condition and value.    Selling it for parts won't get much either as the parts like the car are all out-of-date.
