  1. Im pretty sure I saw something that said gold medals were worth like $225 a piece so he'd be making close to 3 grand if he sold all of the ones he's won

  2. He'd have a whole bunch of first borns :P

  3. i dont think his medals will be worth any more than anybody else's, but you do know once he comes back from beijing he's going to get about a thousand commercials which will equal 75 million dollars.

But i'd assume each medal would be worth about 100,000 us dollars no matter what the name.

There was a female swimmer from poland at the 2004 olympics who sold her medal for  $80,000 then donated it to a cancer fund.

  4. The real question is, why would he sell them? He is already making $5+ million a year just from Visa and Speedo. That's before he won all those medals. Now everyone wants to sponsor him. The guy is going to make close to $100 million in the next 12 months.

  5. more than any one person could need

  6. The actual gold value is negligible compared to the amount of endorsement money he'll get now that he's an Olympic legend.

Just look at all of the top sports players, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Lebron James ... they make most of the money through endorsements anyway.

The Olympic medals symbolizes that great feat that he accomplished, which is a truly memorable Olympic moment.
