largemouth (the darker ones with a bigger mouth) are about 1-2 but smallmouth (a goldish brown with a small mouth) can be about 2-3

My son caught a 17 incher and it weighed 2lbs 6 ounces.So I'm gonna say between 1-2 pounds.

Well the most of the bass i catch are around the length, and all are between 1.30lb and 1.60lb.

why do you want to know the weight? are you looking for a citation?  i would guess 1 to 2 pounds but every fish is different especially different types of bass.  i catch small mouth that size all day and are about 1 and 1/2 pounds.
