Hi there, if you want to save a few dollars then go into an Asian supermarket , their spices come in these thick plastic packets and they are always at a good price, your other option  is to find a suburb that has a big middle eastern population  , the spice shops there usually sell spices at a reasonable price as well, stay away from  Indian/Fijian delis they do sell spices but i find them a little expensive,  also all western run

maybe $20 ish, and I would suggest Herbies, or get in touch with your local Indian Spice merchant, ie, closer the fresher.  You can also buy fresh tumeric root at Asian Grocers and some fresh veg markets.  You could put the whole kilo in the bath and dye the whole family bright orange!
