How much would a 3 day trip to Montreal cost?

I live in New England so I would be driving. Montreal is about 350 miles from where I live. How much money do you think I will need to have a good time?

In all honesty, you're not telling us what is in your budget or even what your idea of a good time is!

Depending on how frugal you really are, you could have fun with as little as $500 or with as much as $5000 - like itssoeasy mentioned earlier!

Besides that, I would have to agree with itssoeasy for the most part.

it really depends where you're staying an what you're doing.

If you want to stay in a hotel downtown, you can rent a room for about 100$ a night, and thats just the minimum.

for food, it depends where you go eat. do you want to go eat at expensive restaurants every night, or are small ones ok too? (by the way the food is very good in montreal) usually costs for dining are affordable. you can have a meal that's 10$ per person, or one thats 100$ per person.

also, don't forget what you will be paying for gas.

and, the attractions you will go see. if you want to enjoy the bars and clubs at night, you will need money to buy drinks (and if there is a special event, to get in) so unless you get a nice guy to buy you drinks, you should have at least 20$ a night per person if not more.

if you want to enjoy the shopping experience, then you'll need a lot of money I won't even bother calculating.

if you want to visit the botanical garden, olympic stadium and all other museums you should have some money for that too.

so to answer your question, how much money will you need to have a good time?

it can be 500$ for the 3 day trip, or it can go up to 5000$, it all depends what you make of it.

but assuming you're going by yourself, you stay in a 150$/night hotel and eat at regular restaurants, I'd say you can do it within 1-3 thousand dollars. (not counting gas of course)
