  1. Think you'd be better off asking Greggs?!

  2. try their website. They may even do delivery.

    Happy birthday, btw

  3. Nowadays, there seems to be such a big selection of places to eat out or get a quick snack. I love going to places like Subway and Starbuck's but sometimes even they can mount up to a lot of money if you have to go every lunchtime. One place however, that I regularly go and still feel is great value for money is Greggs. They are a baker that have been around for a while and still have competitive prices and great food. There is a Greggs in Edinburgh every mile or less it seems so they are getting bigger and opening more stores so if you haven't heard of them I would find it strange.

Greggs sell a lot of things they obviously sell cans and bottles for drinks. They have a wide selection of doughnuts and cakes and do trifles and cream filled cakes, all very fattening but so tempting. I also like that when it is near a special occasion like Christmas or Halloween they will make biscuits to fit that holiday which is a nice touch. I have had many of their doughnuts and cakes and I can safely say they do have great tasting ones. The cream tastes fresh as do the cakes, they are never sitting out too long and they are always adding to their range.

Not only do they do cakes though they also do hotter things like sausage rolls and pasties. I love their sausage rolls and cheese & onion pasties. They also do chicken & mushroom pasties, pies for those who like to eat them. The sausage rolls are usually warm but sometimes if they are tepid you can just ask for a hot one and they will either be bringing a new batch out of the oven or will heat it up in the microwave for you.

The other thing they also sell is sandwiches and rolls. I love to buy them as they have a wide range of fillings which are great. They do white rolls, brown rolls and seeded rolls giving a bigger choice for everyone's needs. They also do chicken & sweet corn filling, prawn cocktail, creamy chicken, salad, spicy chicken, so many and I have had a lot of them and they are all great and they fill it up with chicken and prawns not being minimal so you get your money's worth. Even though I do not like brown rolls they are still really nice with the fillings and they also do bread as well as rolls.

The prices in Greggs are great as they are low and you can always find a big queue coming out of their branches as at lunch people want to save and this baker's offers that option. The rolls and sandwiches cost roughly about £1.60 upwards which to me isn't a lot considering they are very full and you won't be hungry for a while. The cakes and doughnuts, well doughnuts start as low as 20p for a sugar ring and then go up to about 45p for more cream filled and sugary cakes. The sausage rolls cost 48p and pasties about 60p but again this isn't really that expensive compared to other places.

The staff in Greggs I have always found to be very friendly. They are all dressed smartly in their uniform and are easy to identify. Even under the stress of busier times they still always put on a smile and ask you what you want. They will heat things up for you and answer your questions well and I don't have a bad experience to tell about them.

Their customer service skills in here are always good too. I had ordered a birthday cake from them once which apparently is a service they no longer do. Anyway, the cake ended up coming back nothing like what I had asked for and it was too late to replace. I phoned them up and I received £20 in complimentary vouchers which may not be a lot to some but it was a good place to spend them and it made the problem seem a little less unresolved.

The layout of most Gregg's has been updated. They all seem to be getting done up now so that the lettering outside now lights up and is a lot brighter and more modern inside. They see to have a lot more staff in and everything is easy to find. All of the food is well signed so that you can see the cost and what is on offer before you pay. Also, you can see what is being picked out so that you can ask for the less bashed about cake or whatever, maybe that's just me but also it means they won't put the wrong thing in your bag.

A lot of people seem to praise Gregg's like myself and I have always found it a good place to go when being hungry and not with a lot of money to spend. I can get a drink, sandwich and cake for roughly £2 which is pretty good really and it is all nice nothing is burnt; I have yet to have a bad experience here. It's not just a place for poor students but also a lot of on the go workers come here and office workers go here too.

For more information on Greggs go to their website at http://www.greggs.co.uk. Here you can see job vacancies, where your nearest Gregg's is, about the company and what food is on offer. They also have their contact details if you nee to make complaints or have any questions. It's easy enough to navigate.
