Question:

How much would a pay rise based on inflation be?

I've asked my employer about a pay rise and was informed i would get one on september 1st which would probably be more than inflation. As I'm impatient I was wondering how much inflation is at the moment so i could calculate roughly what my pay rise is going to be.

  1. The official government stats. say inflation is 3.8%. But realistically, it is more than 14% so we will all still struggle, unless you are paid alot anyway! :o)

  2. A d**n site more than I got this year - 2.65% hardly enough to cover the Council tax increase let alone gas, electricity and food costs !!   Hope you get what you deserve (in the nicest possible sense) !!

  3. Where are you?

    UK - 3.8%

    Eurozone - 4.2%

    US of A - no idea%

however, wherever you are, double the official figure to get a more realistic %age.

*EDIT* well if you're in Scotland (which incidentley is still part of the UK - and always will be) then its 3.8%
