How much would a personal accountant cost?

Someone to help me balance my checkbook, manage my bills, and tell me what I can and can't afford - maybe twice a month? I have a severe problem managing my own money, and it would probably end up saving me money to have a personal accountant.

  1. You would have to negotiate this with the accounting agency.  Rates depend upon the size and type of agency, and what exactly you ask them to do.  I use my agency just for taxes.  Both my accountant and I are family-run businesses.  He charges me $250 to do my taxes, plus I can call him at any time for the rest of the year for questions regarding upcoming taxes.  But, I get my own receipts in order for him ahead of time.

What might benefit you more is to hire someone to help you set up your finances in Quicken or Quick Books.  Once you are started, it is easy to maintain them yourself.  I use Quicken to track both personal and business finances.  It helps keep things in order come tax time, and I can even track investments (ie, 401(k)), the value of my house, etc.  Many banks and investment companies allow you to download information directly to either Quicken or Quick Books.  Most accountants that I have dealt with offer this service, and I believe it runs $100-$300, depending upon how complicated your finances are.

  2. I can give FREE advice on how to manage your financial affairs.

DO YOU SPEND MORE THAN YOU EARN?

Are YOU STRUGGLING TO KEEP UP WITH YOUR MONTHLY SPENDING.?

I can teach you to set up your own "set of books" manual or computerised.
