Well if a famous boxing champ can be handed as much as 30 million etc for a fight then back then im guessing around £500,000 since in those days that was worth alot more.

A fighter whose take-home cash would have totaled $20,000 (over the course of his entire career) would have been considered a king.  We're talking about the Depression, here.
