I have a 1995 Buick Regal and it is currently green(original car color). I want to get the paint sanded and then repainted black. I am wanting a quality paint job that would last a few years at least. How much do you think this would cost on average? Is it affordable for a high school student making 10 dollars an hour/ 100 dollars a week?

  1. changing the color is more expensive and a good looking quality job will run you in the neighborhood of 4 to $5,000.

  2. Maybe $2000 if there is barley any dents on the car that needs to be fixed.

  3. you are looking at two grand at the least.

  4. Well, first, you can buy paint that goes over the old, yes after sanding and treating (cleaning)  You may want to use a primer, or sealer, that's up to.  I  sell automotive  paint and supplies.  A high gloss acrylic enamel, it runs $50 a gallon. so if youre doing under the hood and the door jams your looking at 1 and a half gallons of paint. now, you will need a reducer, and a hardener, for the paint. I can go on, the best thing to do is to compare the body shops prices, or, if you know of someone who paints, I can tell you the shops will be expensive. hope I helped ya :-)
