  1. Horses can go from $1.00-$1,500,000,000.

An average price for a horse is about $3,000-$5,000.

To get a stable built even a small one would cost $17,000+

And for feed, tack, and supples you could add it up to about $1,200-$7,000 but it really depends on the tack.

Add it all up (using the horse price as $4,000 and saddle price as $1,000 and stable price as $19,000:$25,000

  2. To add to the answer above:

An acre of green pasture per horse if not about $10-$20 per bag grain (depends where you live) Per WEEK. Plus hay about $20 here.

About $100 & up maintenance per month (Grain, hay, Water, treats, wormers, farrier, supplements, shampoo, fly spray, tack, etc)

Not to mention the vet bill which is usually over a hundred dollars a visit. In the winter you'll be spending more money on grain and hay.

If you are looking to buy a horse I hope you understand the responsibilty and financial dedication to these animals as they are certainly not hamsters and can live up to 30+ years. Also if you plan on moving to the city you may not be able to bring em with you like a dog.

Otherwise good luck! And before you check any breeder try checking out the rescues as they have cheap horses that really need a home. Some are rideable and you could work with a trainer to get em to go whichever way you like!
