  1. There's a night train leaving Prague at 5:11 pm that gets you to Rome at 1:08 pm the next day. You need to change trains at the Venezia Mestre station in the morning rather than in Vienna. The discounted Smart price is 115.10 euro for a berth in a compartment with 4 beds or 105.10 euro in a compartment with 6 berths. The standard fare is 21 euro more for each.

On the return, you can leave Rome at 3:55 pm and catch the night train to Prague at Udine at 11:04 pm. Arrival in Prague is at 11:53 am. You can also take the Eurostar to Venezia Mestre to catch the same night train to Prague. The cost going through Udine is 107 or 97 euro for a 4 or 6 berth cuchette, respectively. The standard price is 108 euro.

If you take the Eurostar to Venice, the night train leaves the Santa Lucia station at 8:28 pm and Mestre at 8:40 pm. The standard fare for the return is 136.10 or 126.10. If you can get the discounts, the Amica fare is 44.90 for the Eurostar from Rome to Venice (standard fare = 56.10). The Smart fare discounts for the night train are 59 or 49 euro depending on whether you're in a 4 or 6 bed compartment  (standard fares = 80 or 70 euro).

To price the trains, click on the shopping cart option. then select the fare type & class from the pull down menus. http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html
