Question:

How much would a trip to Scandinavia (minus Norway) cost?

I am planning a trip (thinking a week and a half, but that could change) to Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Helsinki and St. Petersburg (yes, I realize that's not in Scandinavia). What sorts of planning (aka passport type stuff) would I need to do for such a trip, what are some suggestions for safe places to stay, for fun things to do and how much would the trip cost. I'm not a millionaire by any stretch, but this need not be a budget trip. Saving money is great, but I'm actually planning this for next summer, so I've got tons of time to prepare. I'm interested in the Gothenburg metal scene and Swedish football (I'm pretty certain their season is in the summer). Other than that, I'm just picking cities that are reasonably close. I'm not terribly interested in Norway, but if going to St. Petersburg becomes to costly, I might hit up Norway or Germany instead. Thank you for your help!

  1. Sweden and Finland have about the same prices as all the other EU countries, but Russia is way more cheaper.

And yeah, Finnish metal over Norwegian metal anytime ^_^

  2. I would drop Finland and go to Norway instead. Norway has a much better heavy metal scene than Finland for one, and it is a great country with a lot to see. I think St Petersburg is interesting too, I haven't been there myself but some friends have.

The largest cities in Norway btw are Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger.

    You could stay in hostels.

You would need a valid passport, and that's it! If you want to travel around cheap you can by a Europass.
