Depends on the purity if the white gold.   I will assume it 75% gold, or 18K.

The gold in an 18k 4.5 gram chain is currently worth about $90.60 US.  Of course, the chain is not a lump of gold, it is a work of art, a white gold snake chain in this case.  So you pay extra for the art, and the jeweler makes a profit as well.
