  1. entry-level SIU (special investigations unit) positions usually start out between $35k to 41k depending on education and experience.  usually, previous security and/or police training and/or claims adjuster experience is a huge bonus.  Or a bachelor's degree at minimum is req'd.

Check out job boards for top insurance companies by going to their websites....for example, State Farm, Allstate, Progressive, Nationwide, Farmers, etc.  Claims positions are located in every city nationwide so regardless of where you live or where you want to be located there will be possibilities for you.

  2. A beginning insurance adjuster will not make a truckload of money at first. Most companies will start you out in the high 20's and are willing to train you for an entry level job if you have a college degree. If you don't have a degree you can still get a job as an adjuster as most degrees don't mean a thing in the crazy world of insurance adjusting. Experienced adjusters can make in excess of 60K a year, but trust me they earn it.

There are some schools that have programs and degrees for becoming a claims adjuster and they can help you get an insurance adjuster job.

If you decide to pursue this type of job make sure you have thick skin because you are going to catch h**l from both ends. The people who are involved in the accidents/claims and yiur manager.

If you hit Monster.com or greatinsurancejobs.com you will find some entry level adjusting jobs to apply for.

    Good Luck
