It's hard to know. The problem is not so much the cost of the car, but third party cover as anyone 17 is seen as high risk.

It also depends on where you live. I live in Northern Ireland and the insurance here is higher than in the rest of the UK because the accident rate is higher.

The only way to to know for sure is go online and check out a few price comparison sites like moneysupermarket.com or confused.com and they will give you an idea of what the costs will be.

Unless you want to buy a car and THEN find out that that car costs a bomb to insure!!

You want to KNOW what car to buy ACCORDING to how much the car costs to insure.
