How much would changing my hard-disk affect the overall "speed" of my computer?

I recently changed my master harddrive (where windows is installed) from a SATA II (300mb/s) to a SATA I (150mb/s). How much would this change affect my speed? if there is, is it significant at all?

Thanks

  1. Halving the speed, gives you about 25% less efficiency.

  2. The interface wont make a different but the cache sizes will or the rpm speeds. Cache will make a greater difference than rpm speed.

  3. It seems you have downgraded your harddrive speed by half. You won't notice much difference unless you are transferring large amounts of data. If you are transferring, like 10 GB of data into your harddrive, I assume it would take longer than before.

  4. There shouldn't be any change at all. And if there is, it will be very minimal.

  5. I can say when I went from Sata I to Sata II, I noticed a difference in speed.  I guess my question is, what caused you to "downgrade"?

  6. Not much if any.
