How much would it be to build a cheap arcade machine?

Question

I keep wanting to build my own arcade but I nether have the technical know how or t he money. so i got two questions.

1. how would you do it.

2. should I wait for them two developer those twelve dollar computers. this is not a joke. there developing them right now.

p.s. I only get 20 dollars a week plus 40 dollars a month to work with.

1. Good for you.

2. The cabinet can be gotten for free in most cases.

    Use Creigslist.com, look in the free stuff in your area.

    I get 1 or 2 ever month or so from there.

    If you have a arcade near you they get rid of old cabs for free also.

3. Getting the cabinet will save a lot in material, time, and special tools.

4. You may still have to make the control panel. here is links for parts:

5. The computer don't have to be all that modern or powerful for the use of most emulators and the classic games. I use older IBM business computers that have windows 95 and windows 98 on them. MAME32 is the emulator I use most with the frontend program GameEx.

6. I use 20+ inch tv's and an video adapter to the computer.

go to the library or get online and google it..but the library might be your best shot,..it will explain step by step and also have photos..hope you are handy with tools and electronics
