How much would it cost for a family of seven to live in India per year?

Myself, my huband and our five children would like to stay in india for awhile. We do not plan to live in the big city-we will be staying in Ferozepur. Do we need to have a car? How much will the schools cost in that area? How about food?

Im guessing 360,000 Rupees. If you dont spend alot then probably less but then first it will be alot by buying a car and accesories for your home. I dont know about schools but Im guessing food will be same price as canada, like 50-70

rupees for a cabage.

It would depend on your standard of living and lifestyle.

Yes you'll need a car.

A Maruti 800 entry level car costs Rs 2 00 000

Schools for 5 kids Rs 10 000

Expenses Rs 50 000

You would need to rent out a house sufficient for all of you and servants if any... the rent would be around 1,80,000/- pa ($4500). Average food expenses if cooked at home 1,60,000/- pa ($4000). As regards to car you could hire from travel agency on a monthly basis instead of buying the same and approximately it will cost you $12,000 pa.

I am not sure of good schools at Ferozepur but on an average annual fees per child may be around Rs 18,000.00 pa ie for 5 children it would be rs 90,000/-( $ 2250).

Hence adding all the above the total expense for the year may work out to US$ 22750 without considering additional expenses such as your travel around India if any, weekend trips etc. I think you will have a comfortable life if you have around US $ 50,000 to spend per year...Welcome to India and have a great time

hi, Ferozpur is cheap city your seven member family can survive   at 2 lakh (5000 $) Rs Per annum schools cost depends on schools for good standerd it may 500 Rs/month

not to much.you will have servants to help you out.a very respectable atmosphere with lot of pride.kids should study in india for at least a year.all you are going to gain is respect for life and people.
