Just the one arm. From the shoulder down to the wrist. I know it varies from shop to shop but I'm just looking for a rough estimate on the cost? And the hours it would take? Also some ideas if you have any?

  1. it really depends on what the design is, and how long it takes.

every design is different, and takes a different amount of time.

i have a 3/4 sleeve that's not done, i just have the outline so far.

the first sitting was around 4-5 hours, i paid 360.

and i have 2 more sittings to go.

i will probly sit for around 8-9 hours, and i will probly pay around 800 when it's all done.

  2. When choosing a design it might benefit to ask yourself the following questions: What inspires me? What do I aspire to? What gives me strength? These three simple questions should trigger your gray matter to come up with an idea of what is meaningful "marking" for you.

One should decide carefully where they want it as otherwise they end up paying a fortune to have it laser removed. Also, different locations mean different things like there is a theory that getting a tattoo on the lower back helps open up the base chakra and enhances the life force.

You could also find info on various sites. They usually include a beginner's guide to getting a tattoo and cover some of the most common concerns and questions when getting a tattoo.

All said, you may also ask professional tattoo artists (when you go for one) for they have the best ideas and suggestions.

  3. o my it would be so hard to tell you. it all depends on what kind of sleeve you want, how much detail is in it, who you go to, how much you can take it one sitting, how your skin reacts to it, and whether or not its in a shop or someone's house.

i can tell you this. my half sleeve took a total of roughly 24 hours total. ive been workin on it for years, but i would guess it prolly cost around $400 all together.

but it was done by people i know, in their homes, where they dont have to charge me shop dues. you go to a shop you will get charged alot more because unless you own the shop you have to rent your booth like in a hair salon, and most places require 50%, so the artist only gets half what he charges you, so its gonna be alot more money.

i would say with an average detailed sleeve without too much goin on in a shop would cost you roughly $2500 or so.

  4. That depends on a lot of things. How much detail? How big is your arm? Stuff like that. Color blending? All these are factors. My sleeve has about 30 hours in it, and is extremly complex. My best guess is a minimum of 20 hours. Really depends on what you've already got there, and if you don't have anything yet, what you want and how much of it is custom work. The price is going to be better as a single piece, than by the hour. Bring your checkbook. Most tattoo artists charge about $100-$150 an hour for custom work.

  5. An entire sleeve?!

    Whoa..

  6. it depends on what you get it'll definetly be well over $1,000 though
