  1. First, double the cabin cost, unless you book with the stipulation you will share a cabin.  That is going to be your passage fare.

Air fare is separate, add that.  If you live near the port of departure, add parking fees or the cost of a cab.  If you get a friend or relative to drop you off, that's a savings.

Add about $50 / day if you want to drink and live it up.   Add another $50 / day for tips.

On board entertainment is free.  In port, check the prices.  Add it.

Add anything you buy in the gift shop.

I'll give you an estimate of $200 / day plus cruise costs for you to have a good time for a seven day cruise.  That includes shore excursions and drinks unless you want to get really loaded.

  2. This is like asking how much a Toyota costs.

The price varies with the length of the trip, the type of cabin, and where the ship is going.  Alaska is more expensive than the Caribbean.  Longer cruises cost more than shorter cruises.  Suites cost more than standard cabins.

A three night weekend cruise could cost $300 per person.  A two week European cruise could cost $5,000 per person.

they have in depth info on choosing a cruise

  4. carnival.com

you are paying for a cabin, which means you are paying double occupancy.  If you are a single person you pay just the same as if you had two to your cabin. Call carnival and price out the place you want to go and the time of year.

  5. I cruise solo on Carnival 2 or 3 times a year.  I always purchase the lowest category BALCONY cabin - not a guarantee....I want to pick my own.

I don't purchase until I can get a 7-day cruise for around 1000.00 including taxes.

I fly from Philly to the Florida port and generally can find tickets in the 158.00-238.00 price.  I go down a day before because I don't trust the airlines to get me there on time....Hotel prices have ranged from 59.00 to 101.00.  I generally don't like to pay more than about 90.00.

All of your meals and snacks are included in the cruise price - except for specialty restaurants and specialty coffee and dessert places.....I don't use either one.

Tips for a 7 day cruise run $10.00 per day for a total of 70.00.  Sometimes I leave extra for room steward or waiter.  I don't tip bartenders because a 15% is already added on to each beverage.

I don't book Carnival excursions.  I don't book excursions at all because I prefer to do things on my own.  Plus, I've been to many places many times and don't want to re-do.  If you are a first timer, you might want to go on some excursions.  Check the Carnival website for info on prices.

My sign and sail account for a one-week cruise generally runs about $250.00-300.00 for the week and includes all beverages - (I treat myself to a nice bottle of wine in the dining room, too.), all shopping (I generally buy cigarettes and at least one bottle of booze to bring home).

Out-of-pocket ashore is minimal.  I usually have lunch and a cold one at a favorite restaurant and may buy a coupla bottles of my favorite cologne if I'm running low..

I don't buy souvenier thingies.......  I try to find and buy local art - from the artist....generally small watercolors or oils.

The entire trip might cost 1500-1600.00 dollars.

That being said, you can get a lot cheaper cabin by either purchasing a guarantee or and inside cabin.  I've seen prices as low as 500.00....but, I'm spoiled and must have a balcony....it's where I spend a lot of time and simply love sitting out there, day or night.
