  1. See your embassy or consulate - if you report a passport lost or stolen, may not be a charge.

  2. A passport issued by which country?  The fee required depends on the country that issues the passport.

If you are a U.S. citizen and need a U.S. passport to return to the U.S., see the answer I gave to another similar question (first link below).

If you are a citizen of another country and need to replace your passport before returning to the U.S., you will also need to replace the U.S. visa that was in a lost or stolen or damaged passport (if you are not visa exempt).  See the second link below (replacement of the I-94 is only needed if you are in the U.S. and lose your non-U.S. passport).

If you have a non-U.S. passport (didn't lose it), but need a new passport because you have run out of blank pages or because it has expired, you will not need to replace the U.S. visa if it is still valid; that visa is still usable if you present both passports when entering the U.S.

  3. Talk to the American consulate if you are stranded or need help.

  4. As other answerers have already stated, you need to tell us what country you are a citizen of, or other clarifying information. If you are a US citizen and currently overseas, needing a new passport (US passport), you'll get it from the US Embassy or Consulate in the country where you are. A replacement or renewal will cost you a total of $75. Regular turnaround time is less than two weeks usually. If you don't have your passport at all, you should call them first and let them know that you are coming; it might be pretty difficult for you to get into the Embassy/Consulate without it.

  5. i believe its a little cheaper than the actual cost of a new passport, but i think its a little expensive. check online at the www.travel state website.
