How much would it cost me in petrol to drive to Glasgow and back from Cardiff in a Kia Pride 1324 cc?

Cardiff to Glasgow is about 390 miles.  The Kia Pride averages 45mpg, or about 10 miles per litre.  So that's about 40 litres each way.  At about £1 a litre, that's around £80 fuel costs.

If you don't need the car when you get there, check out bmi baby, depending on when you fly, you could get a return flight from Cardiff for less than £5! If you're quick, you could actualy do it for less than 10p!!!!!

That's about 400 miles each way according to the AA route-planner. 800 miles round trip at about 30 mpg average = 27 gallons.

At say £4.30 per gallon = £116.10

Loads! I had one of those things and it was really uneconomical.  I'd expect anything up to £100 in petrol at the very least.  I also live near Cardiff although I never tried to drive up to Glasgow!

Allow £100-120.

Keep within the speed limit. Travelling at speeds over 70mph will seriously increase your fuel consumption.

Take regular breaks and consider driving through the night.

Lastly, make sure you check oil and water before, during and after your journey.

One more thing, check out the price of flights from Cardiff, it will probably (and amazingly) cost less if you are travelling alone.
