  1. about a million dollars a month, that's to be comfortable

  2. Apartments in L.A. rent from $800/month up.

You will need a first & last months rent, + security deposit which is from $100 to $500.  A telephone will cost you $100 - $300 to install or buy a cell.  Utility deposits usually run +/-$250.  If you want cable TV, another $100 deposit for that.   If you have furnishings, you will have to pay to have them moved and delivered.  If not, figure at least $500 to $800 for bare minimum furnishings.  If you cook & eat at home, figure $400 to $600 per month.

If you eat out, figure $10 per meal; some may be less, some will be more.

I presume you already have a job.  If not, you will need enough money for living expenses and transportation.  If you have a car, insurance in L.A. is around 10 -15% higher than outside of Calif.

If not, a bus pas is around $75/month.

You get the idea.  Think of all the expenses you have now, and add 25% for safety. Welcome to L.A.!

  3. It really depends what you mean by 'comfortably'. The truth is that you are probably going to need 1.3 mil. If you really want to live in Beverly Hills, that is the minimum. Otherwise, that would be pretty much enough. Good Luck!

  4. I guess around $50, 000 year to live comfortably.. like food and maybe rent.. just all the basics. Just know that LA is a fast paced city and people are all about luxury, style, and materialism.. You really have to have some cash in your pocket and have the certain look to have fun there..
