They currently pay I think its 125-140 dollars monthly for insurance on a 4 door 2003 buick century. So my question is, would it go up alot if I were to buy a GT myself and have them add it to their policy and add myself to it? How much do you think it would go up?

BTW i'm talking about a 1987-93 mustang GT. Or chances of a 99. I dont want it to somewhat be "fancy" or nothing. It could have high mileage. I plan on buying one for around 1-4 grand. Yes the mileage would probably be high, but h**l mustangs are cool and it would be my first car :P

BTW I'm getting my license when I turn 18. I turn 17 in 2 months. I want to get a job now and start saving up.

  1. You don't even have a license yet? Its gonna be expensive and if you think its gonna be $80 a month you are mistaken or you are only getting liability insurance. It's up to you. Dont ask for help and then act like you know everything.

If you wanna find out how much insurance is gonna cost, compare a few quotes online or call your parent's insurance company and ask them.

  2. on your own policy dude, it will cost you around 160 JUST for liability. on your parents policy seeing as its THAT high just for a 4 door non sports car, you will probably be paying around 200 a month for a mustang on that same policy. Not saying your parents have bad driving records but d**n man thats high as h**l for a Buick!! Im assuming thats full coverage as well.

Insurance would be cheaper on a older mustang (obviously) but i own a 2001 Mustang GT and im 21, M, with 2 wreckless drivings (99 in 55, 67 in 35) 1 running a red light and 1 evading arrest and i pay 205 a month full coverage for my car AND the insurance company knows about my driving record as well as my LONG list of mods to the car EXCEPT for nitrous. do not tell any insurance company about that you will be dropped faster than you can say "cat in a hat".

good choice on the car, and yes they are kickass! hit up my myspace when you get it if you want help for performance mods.

as for which one to get, i would get the V6, rip out the motor, swap in a V8 and let the mayhem begin. you start cheap AND the insurance company has a VIN # for a V6 stang so your car insurance will be ALOT cheaper. probably around 120 a month full coverage for a v6 stang. its not considered a "performance vehicle"
