How much would it cost to get to London, England?

i would be going by plane, and also what the cost of staying at a hotel (and for how manys nights), renting a car, and gas prices there?

- Flight: Use a flight search engine like opodo, skyscanner or flightcomparison:

For the sake of comparison, using opodo I found a non-stop flight from JFK Airport to Heathrow Airport for £423.70 ($841.82 at the current exchange) including taxes and booking fees,  flight-only.

- Renting a car/gas prices: Not recommended for a stay in London. Roads in central London are jammed with cars, so you get to places much faster on public transport.

- Hotel: Room rates are 'per night' and you decide the number of nights you wanna stay, so the total cost will depend on how many nights you stay there. Room rates vary widly depending on proximity to the centre and type of hotel.

You really wanna stay somewhere central (so that you don't have to travel long distances every time you wanna go sightseeing or spend a night in town), so the main choice you have to make is how much extra you wanna pay for the extra comfort. Expect to pay anything upwards of £50 per night for a room in a 3-star hotel or better in central London. Better deals can be had (e.g. £42 per night for a 3-star hotel in Bayswater, breakfast included) if you search for them:

Always check the hotel reviews on http://tripadvisor.com , though read what the review says instead of just looking at the headline and rating 'cos many people are like 'worst hotel ever!' when all there was wrong with their room was a bit of wallpaper peeling off or something petty like that.

You need to tell me which city you would be departing from.

The lowest price I have found (departing from JFK in NYC) is $1156, which includes car rental, and hotel for 6 nights.  The gas prices in London are around $8.67 USD per gallon.

Prices will go up from there depending on the hotel you want to stay at.
