How much would it cost to go to China?

Me and my dad were talking about this, and I'm researching it. The flight seems like it'd be the most expensive thing, but I really have no idea. So, anyone done it who's willing to share their expendetures?

It depends on where you go in China, if you go to Yunnan, it's then cheaper than Beijing, Shanghai...

The flight is the most expensive part of the trip. Since the Olympics are going on the tickets cost more now than in the past.

Last year the flight was $1300, this year it is $2000.

I think the costs will go down after the Olympics are over.

Food is very cheap even in nice restaurants.

The hotels are cheaper than western hotels, and can cost from around $60 to $200 per night.

Transportation inside China is also cheap.

Anything you buy can be bargained and do not pay the first asking price.

The food is good, don't drink the water anywhere except from bottled water you bought at a store.

With a phrase book you can get around. Many people speak a little English, especially the children who are taking it in school.

They will greet you on the street.

It is exciting to see new and different things and meet people.

i'm chinese and have gone to china recently. the flight is probably the most expensive thing. generally, the earlier u buy, the cheaper u can get the tickets. the hotel may be expensive also, depending on where and what kind it is. food should be cheap, and other than that, there isn't much else to buy.
