  1. Check google for attic vent fans.  I just checked.  The cost is much cheaper than the installation.  You may? be able to do it yourself with help.

  2. Home Depot or Lowes have then from $50 to $150 with the more expensive ones being the gable fans that pull air from one side of the attic to out the other. They are thermostat ed so that you can keep the attic temp. on most days.

You should be able to install the gable fan yourself, needing some 14/3 wire to connect to a switchable outlet.. The roof ventilator should be done by a handyman who is not afraid to be on your roof when installing the unit. That should cost no more than 3 to 3 hours maximum labor.

The cost will be paid back in the first or second year by reduced electrical bill. You will also be extending the life of the roof because it will not be so hot (150 degrees or more) when the ventilator is cooling down the interior of the attic space.

  3. 3000$-5000$Have someone look at your unit to see if it is really doing all it can first.
