How much would it cost to import a Camaro into the UK?

If we wanted to imort a Camero from the US to the UK how much would it cost? Imported cars are really expensive so we would like to know if we do it ourselves how much we could save.

I imported my classic Chevy in from the states a few years ago. Shipping by RORO (roll on roll off) is the cheapest and roughly about a grand give or take a few hundred. Its the import tax which stings you, (which you don't pay if you have owned the car for a period of 6 months) the bloody government want your dosh no matter what your doing and the amount you pay is normally a percentage value of the car, i paid around 1500 quid on a old truck that cost me $11000. There are ways  to get this cheaper if you know what i mean, and then you have various handling fees which are a couple of hundred also, In the end i paid around 2 and a half grand on top of the cars price. Its worth it if you cant find what your after in the U.K

if it's new then you have to pay tax, if you buy a car and own it 6 months before importing it then you don't pay tax on it, just the shipping costs, i think its about £ 750
