Question:

How much would it cost to insure a Dodge Stealth?

I was looking at Dodge Stealths but I am afraid it would cost to much money to insure being I am 17. I'm not talking about the Twin turbo version, I mean the base (which has about 125hp), the ES (about 222hp), or the R/T(same as ES but also has a turbo charger). The car weighs about 2500lbs i believe (if that even matters), also I would not be getting any upgraded body kits for it. Please don't just say a lot or something to that extent. Thank you for your time.

  1. This question depends on a lot of factors, no one here can give you an answer unless they are an insurance agent licensed in your state. First of all, your driving record and how long you have had your license will be considered. Secondly, it's a sports car regardless of the engine, that's gonna cost you more just because it will. Then, will you have full coverage or just what you have to have legally (PLPD in my state). Will you have your own policy or be on your parents policy? Have you had tickets & accidents? Lotsa things to consider. I can tell ya that a Stealth is very expensive for a full time working adult and I'd bet you could no way afford the insurance alone. My 19 year old son wanted all the kewl sports cars and had em for a short while, then it clicked in his head how much cash he was spending and he traded his Camaro for a family type car with much less costs involved and the Lumina is also much better of gas which is another thing to consider with a Stealth. I love the Stealth's and wish I could afford one but can't so I drive my cheap car instead. Good luck!!

  2. As you are only 17 and male, it will cost you quite a bit to insure anything!  You may want to sit down with an insurance agent and find out what is the least expensive car for you to insure.  I assure you, it is NOT a sports car.  Don't throw away your money at this point.  Go for the cheapest form of transportation because you will be paying through the nose for insurance.  Nothing much you can do about that except get the least expensive you can get and wait it out until the rates drop for you.

    Good luck.

  3. Alot depends on where you live and on your age.  Being under 18 will make the premium higher but if you get under your parents insurance it can lower it.  Insurance bases premiums on how much they pay out a year on accidents for each model of car also the performance level and likely hood that you will be speeding.  Just cause its the base model doesn't mean it will be cheap.
