  1. earn around 20,000 per year and maybe just get by id say

  2. £800/£1000 a month for a one bed flat

  3. NOT SURE.. BUT I WAS SPEAKING WITH SOMEONE FROM BRUM OTHER DAY.AND RENT THERE IS ALOT CHEAPER THAN HERE, THATS NORTHAMPTONSHIRE SO LONDON ALOT MORE I GUESS

  4. its really quite expensive. Although it will be cheaper if you live on the outskirts. Im a student and my rent for one room all bills paid is £106 per week although my friends rent a flat and they pay about £300 per month each and theres 4 of them, but the rooms are teeny tiny. If you live somewhere like cockfosters you could get the tube everyday and the rent will be alot cheaper. Just make sure you view the flat before you move up here, if its cheap theres probably a reason why!lol.

    hope i helped a bit x

  5. I am currently looking at universities in London and have been told that I can expect to spend around £9k a year on student lifestyle, excluding university fees and any uni books or equipment i need.  And that's just for a crappy student life!  Sorry if that doesn't help much

  6. i read today that to live a normal life in London you would have to have an income of £64,000 pa.and to live a happy lifestyle it would be £76,000 pa, so at the moment mate with all this cash crisis stuff it will cost you the earth , unless you like living in a squaler.

  7. Example - my partner and me have a joint disposable income of about £25,000 after all the bills have been paid.  We are pensioners, with mortgage paid off plus free travel anywhere in London.

So, to live reasonably well here in London, you'll need an income of about £35,000 to £40,000 - if less, you will be constantly scraping the bottom of the barrel and that's not a joke.

You really need to earn enough to be able to go and sit in a restaurant occasionally and buy a meal for £30 a head, say once a month.
