  1. It really depends on exactly which transmission you have (straight or auto).  If it is an automatic, its probably a C-4 or FMX.  Either way you're looking at least $200 (labor) at a local shop just to pull it out.  (if convertor is still good they can just flush it, and reuse).  If you can do most of the removal and installation yourself will save you $$$, also a standard rebuild kit (NAPA) with bands, steels, clutches, gasket/seals for a C-4 is around $160 if you can DIY.


  2. In or out of car? 400-500 out of maybe, and have a shift kit installed.

    Check the yellow paged and call a few ATRA certified shops. They can tell you what a complete rebuild would be.

    You'll need a new torque converter too. I wouldn't reuse the old one.
