I do NOT want to rent just any limo. i want like a really high class top of the line (my cousin told me Bentley, lol.) i just want to know about how much it would probably cost for 8-10 ppl in a limo like that for about 4-5 hours. I just want an estimate. This is for my bday party so i was just wondering.

  1. or you could ride a normal car and have money instead.

i don't know if it's just me, but I'd rather save the cash than ride in a long car for 4-5 hours.

  2. it is expensive.

  3. There's a source listed below for one company in LA that I don't know anything about. But it's prices don't seem too far out of line.

Most of the time, I use a car service to get to the airport in the NYC metro area, typically it's about $150 for a trip that's around 50 miles. That's your basic Lincoln Town car. Does not include tip, i.e. there may be one listed, but it is considered decent to add a bit. It's something you need to ask around about.

Once in a while I wind up in a limousine because it's what's available  or would be deadheading otherwise (in this case same price) and it might be a baby stretch, a couple of feet inserted into the middle, or a stretch. I'd prefer the baby stretch any day of the week. EXCEPT.

You can't get 8-10 people comfortably into either a baby or a stretch (depending on what you mean by stretch) and it's kind of doubtful about a super stretch. Just look at it like a low slug living room with a bar -- remember they don't get any wider, just longer.

I've ridden in a lot of stretches for party affairs, etc and always thought six was about as many as I was comfortable with. Not to complain too much, but I don't even find them all that comfortable. They're a little too low slung and I'm getting creaky in places. You aren't.

My guess is that if you're in a major city, you're looking at 65-100 an hour with a three or four hour minimum. Most places have several companies and there is some price competition, but not all limos are created equal -- even if they look alike.

That's because some people maintain them better, buy new ones more often. The other thing to put it crudely is that some drivers are jerks, don't know what they're doing or don't like their job. They don't know when to talk or when to shut up -- or don't know their way around. You want someone who shows up on time and doesn't leave you stranded. And while you may think you're spending a forturne (you are), there's some give and take. You can't treat him (or her) like an a***e.

I personally find the SUV style limo very de classe and prefer either the more traditional stretch or -- something vintage that doesn't look like it was dredged up from a funeral parlor.

You aren't going to find a Bentley you can afford that will handle that many people for sure. I'm not sure there are any around for hire and if so, only for a rarefied clientele. Given that if it's newesh, it would cost upwards of $400,000, figure out how that breaks out.

But there are companies that specialize in semi-vintage or vintage rentals. One DC company hires out a 1948 Packard. I've run into several that use well maintained vintage Rolls and you might find a Bentley there as well (not a lot of  difference there). They might throw an odd name at you -- helps if they're on line. There are still some old custom chassis around that were built by Austin ages ago and look like classic Rolls.

Ask around for people who've used a company before you commit to it. Don't just do it on price. And consider whether they're used to your age group. I personally don't much care for limo companies that deal heavily in proms and things like that. But a first hand reference is a good thing. And insurance. Be sure YOU're protected. That goes almost without saying for a licensed company. But old Fred's limo service might leave you in a pit if something happens and they need someone to blame.

Not knowing where you are, look for ads in Yellow pages. FWIW, the last thing you want is one of these people who's trying to pick up fares for his limo at the airport.

When you call someone, you need to tell them up front how many people will be in the car, will they fit. What do they offer? Specialty or vintage cars are sometimes offered by standard companies, not many.

My guess is that you're looking at a floor of $250 and maybe up to $500 depending on the size of the car. If you get into serious vintage like Rolls of the 40s or 50s, it will probably set you back more, but ask. Maintenance on them is high. Reputable companies will give you a decent car in the range you want.

If you want to go quirky, you might as well start there. Some strange things have been stretched. I wouldn't mind a London taxi stretch. let's you sit in straight. If you're trying to make an impression on your friends, you might ask if you could drop by and look at it.

Also, FWIW,  depending on the city, you can rent with female drivers, no doubt paying for looks, or get a hunk driver on the other side.  Depending, you may be paying for the view.

If you know someone who caters weddings or has something to do with organized events like that, they can probably refer you to people who will fill the bill.

Final note. I was in a small Netherlands city last year and the whole wedding deal was led by a 1958 T-Bird followed by other 50s and 60s American cars. I went to a wedding in London where the couple traveled in a vintage  Rolls convertible and an assortment of other vintage rolls carried the rest of the immediate family. A double decker bus served nicely as a rolling bar for the rest -- and the price for it and the driver was quite reasonable. Someone decorated the inside with easily removed crepe etc.

    Have a good time.

  4. Its really quite surprising how cheap a limo can be rented for. often times it its not a stretch, it can cost less than a cab.

When i got married it was 45 dollars a hour so not bad if u ask me. live life and enjoy. but since u want high class all out for 8 people. be prepared for about 300 for the night

  5. depends where to and where r u from plus what do u want in it

  6. if its a bentley it would most likely be $350-500 an hour.

The ones that u see like on the streets often are like $200 for five hrs.

  8. Hello friend, http://www.LimoZu.com is the best way to find limo service. They compare all the limo companies in your area. Just click all the limos then compare the best price and service in town. Some limo services cost around $35/hr up. This way you will save time rather then search each limo company.

  9. The cost will vary depending on where you live, the date, and of course, the size. Check around online for some transportation companies, some of them break down the cost/hour with the varying types & sizes of limos.
