  1. how sure are you that replacing the trany new or rebuilt would give you the correct shift points. take it to the dealer because they are the only ones that will have the software to correct the shift points electronically and or to adjust the computer shift points.  meeeee yaaaaa taaaaaaaa..

  2. An arm and a leg.

  3. to have a rebuilt one put in your talking $2,000 to $2,500.

  4. Try to locate a replacement transmission yourself at a junkyard. They usually give a warranty. And if you don't plan on installing it yourself, then all you have to really worry about is how much the mechanic is going to charge you since they won't be able to charge you for locating and retreiving the tranny. You can probobly find a tranny for your Miata for less than $500 definitly, but around $300 normally. It all depends on where you live. Installation is about 3-5 hours @ $30-$60 an hour plus transmission/gear oil and any other misc items so any where from $200-$500 for just the install. It also depends on if it's a manual transmission or automatic. Automatics are usually more expensive and cost more to install. Manual transmissions may need another clutch kit installed. Basically around $1000 give or take a couple hundred. Hope this helps, and I hope you find a good deal.

  5. It depends on how you act when you get an estament. If you say, "Replace" it would be more then if you said "Repair"
