How much would it cost to replace or rebuild an engine on a 200 dodge intrepid with a 2.7 engine?

Question

my car was burning oil, and sounded like it was knocking and ticking alot, then all of a sudden yesterday the check engine light popped on and as soon as i put the car in park the engine went nuts and was reving up on its own. can someone just let me know how much this is gonna cost me, cause unfortunately i got suckered into buying this car with a super high interest rate and still owe like $5,000 so i have no choice but to fix this car

you need to have a shop check it out first but if it does need an engine or that one rebuilt your looking at about 1500.00 bucks  to get that one rebuilt, or to replace it with a rebuilt one with with a better warranty on it about  1800 bucks,sometimes its a lot better to get a rebuilt one because your engine may have more internal problems and it could cost more in labor than the engine will be worth to repair,check this site out they have those engines already built with a 3 year or 75 thousand mile warranty on them good luck.http://www.jasperengines.com/

believe it or not it may not be the engine itself but to know for sure take it to a repair shop  and if it is the motor you will be looking at about 2000.00 to fix it
