Me and my fiancee plan on moving to Vietnam after we get married. We are considering starting up a small business (coffee shops are extremely popular) there. I'm doing my research while working towards my MBA, but if anyone knows some resources as far as how much money we should start plan on starting off with, please point me in the right direction. Thanks!!

  1. My friends are at the moment doing what you propose.First they found a decent size bit of land and took out a 10 year contract at 600 usd per month,[cheap in Nha Trang]They are now building and equipping the coffee shop, cost 20,000 usd, trust me by the time they add up all there overheads, and i include paying the local mafia and the police[yes you have to pay both],they will need to sell an awful lot of coffee.I would strongly recommend you come and live here for a few months, seek plenty of advice, trust absolutely know one and then make your decision.Good luck and let me know when you are open.

This coffee shop has got more attention lately and they have different sorts of investment for you to choose and open a coffee-shop. It is now originally located in the backpacker place which is like lot of fun. It could be a good start for you two.

if u want to make a lil profit and give it back to the community, then y don't u just GIVE them the money tat u WILL have to spend on opening a shop? just give them around $5,000 to $30,000 rather than open a shop since u don't want to make lots of money.....

  7. Ong Jon,  What were you thinking.  That's not like you.

It sounds like her family is Vietnamese in any case.

You will find that there are franchises availbale from many different coffee distributors.

check out this web site and I think that you will get a better idea of the volitile market here.  There are tons of shops and some are really beautiful. From really inexpensive sidewalk shops to amazing works of art.  There is a coffee shop for everyone in Vietnam.
