  1. Depends on how good your wholesale connections are.

    But for a small store, you should expect 20k minimum, up to maybe 35k.

    But some distributors, especially beer companies, will save you some dough if you agree to put up promotional items... signs, placards, giant cardboard women in bikinis, etc...

    And i agree with the first poster that the more variety you have, the better your business will be. People have widely different tastes.

    But also recognize your more generic base. If your in a college town for instance, then have plenty of 30 packs of cheap beer laying around.

    If your in a more high end type place, then wine and top shelf liquor will be key.

    But either way always have some stock of the most common things. So everyone will be happy.


  2. I would guess between  $10,000- $30,000.

    It all depends on how many different types of each liquor you plan to sell. To be successful you have to a good variety of well known name brands for a variety of consumers.
