How much would it cost to swap a LT1 into an 1991 rx7

Question

I know how much the engine and other things needed for the swap cost, but how much would it be for labor?

I have seen a good deal on the internet about LS1 swaps into an RX7.  Its not extremely common, but it has been done several times.  For the money you would spend to get the LT1 into the car, you might as well go for the LS1 which is a far superior engine.

it all depends on which mechanic u take it to if you take it to one at all that is if you have the tools and the know how but my answer would be talk to your local mechanics and see who would be the cheapest and if they had done something like that before

It will be more expensive than your typical engine swap because custom fabricated parts and additional fab work are required. Shops usually charge $600-1500 for engine swaps...call around and ask. A V8 will easily fit into the RX7, but not all components are interchangeable. I posted a link at the end for the best resource on the subject.

A custom job like this is usually best done with a friend or family member who can do the work. Most shops will not take the care required for such a project.  Read through the site and you'll get an idea of what's involved.
