I am flying into San Diego Airport and my hotel is in Carlsbad. I am trying to find the best way to get there and was wondering how much it would be to take a cab.

  1. you'd be better off taking the train I think. even if you get a whole month pass(125 approximately) that will set you back less than two cab rides. but may come out to even with cabs from the aiport to the station.

  2. slfrussell is correct...  It will set you back about $75.00 -  $80.00.  A better game plan would be to reserve a rental car for a "one-way" rental.  The big players (Hertz, Avis) have spots in Carlsbad at some of the finer hotels.  Might be worth considering.

  3. Try the coaster or cloud 9.

  4. Yikes!  It cost me $30 to go from the airport to my home in Mission Valley.  Carlsbad in normal trafffic...easy $100...more if the 5 is busy.

  5. If I was in your shoes, I will definitely avoid taking a cab. $80 is the minimum you will pay and if there is traffic because of all the construction on I-5 fwy you will easily pay $120. The best way to make this trip is to take a shuttle. Preferably Super Shuttle. Here is a list of all the shuttles leaving from San Diego Airport. http://www.socalthemeparks.com/san-diego...

It will cost you half the fare of a taxi and it's a flat rate so you don't have to worry about traffic.

  6. It's way too much because it's quite far.  I recommend you take the Coaster or rent a car.  I would probably rent a car.

  7. about $80

  8. It would cost ALOT! Your best bet is to rent a car or what I would suggest is the Coaster. From the airport you take a bus (992) to the Amtrack station and the Coaster train will take you to Carlsbad for about 7 bucks and it is a beautiful ride. (I take it all the time) I always see people with luggage headed to and from the airport.

there are two stops in Carlsbad and your hotel should be a short cab ride from either one you can even call and an operator will help you plan/ time your trip- I have done this a few times.

  9. A taxi will cost around $80.

The best & cheapest would be to take a Cloud 9 (or similar) shuttle one way or a chauffeured private car (from the shuttle places). Both will be about half of what you'd pay for the taxi.
