  1. it would cost the price of the bus/train/car plus any other incurred expenses such as food, water, or gratuity..

  2. It would completely depend on where in NJ and where in NY.

But I can almost guarantee it's cheaper than driving, provided you're going to NYC.

  3. It depends on number of zones on New Jersey Transit, it's private carriers under contract with NJ Transit along with MTA's Port Jervis and Pascak Valley Line.

Academy Bus, DeCamp, Red & Tan in Hudson County, Rockland Coaches, etc.

Monthly Pass or Weekly Pass is accepted on Buses in New Jersey.

Only PATH (stands for Port Authority TransHudson rapid subway) is $1.75 base fare.

while NJ Transit's Hudson-Bergen Lightrail are $1.90 each way, River Line $1.35 and Newark City Subway lightrail $1.75. These lightrail tickets must be validaded before getting onboard the train.

Also, depends where you catch New York Waterway, depends on distance travel.

In New York, depends where you go.

New York City and up to Westchester County or east up to western line of Suffolk County, MTA Long Island Buses, MTA Bus, NYCT Buses, NYCT Subways, Westchester Bee-Line Buses are base fare of $2 and express buses are $5 in coins or MTA MetroCard.

If travelling by railroad, depends on zone # except for Connecticut fare is set by CT DOT, so CT Fare is unchanged on MTA Metro-North.

If travelling by MTA Long Island Railroad, depends on distance of # of zones printed.
