I have a 1936 buffolo head nickle and it has "S" meaning san fransisco i'm guessing?

  1. well, i will start out with two things here. the s does not stand for San Fransisco, and you are posting in the wrong section we discuss engines here not where your change came from. but the rough value of that coin ranges from .75 cents to 25 dollars depending on condition. there were 14,930,000 produced that year. this is according to the whitman guidebook of unites states coins form the 2003 issue. i had it handy.
