i borrowed a book called true believer in hardcover about a year ago and i went through a move, and turned in my other books, but this book accidentally got packed and i never got around to turning it in. it's been about a year, and i havent been to the library since, but how much would my fee be? and would it be better to return the book and pay the late fee, or pay a replacement fee?

  1. Don't return the book?

  2. It's been a year so if they haven't contacted you why don't you just keep it?

  3. keep the book and if you're in a different city just get a library card for that city and shred up your old one, the library will have no way of contacting you.

Oh yeah, and my library is 50 cents per day adult fine, so it all depends.

  4. Pay the replacement fee.

The cost would probably be around $73.

It just depends on the cost of the late fees. The library in our town in like, 20 cents a day. So 20 cents x 356 was $73. : ]

I owe the library like, $23 in late fees. : |

  5. i had a book that was four months overdue and the fine was $61.41 i live in NY so i suppose it ranges based on your area.

  6. typical book fine

    10 cents

    a year

consists of 365 days minus weekends, holidays, and etc.

    do the math

  7. Most libraries use the replacement cost of the book as the highest fine that can be charged ... but call the library (from a phone booth if you want complete privacy) and ask what their fees are and how much this particular book (with due date and name of book) would cost you to return.  Then, return the book, and pay the fine.

  8. IT 10cent a day. thats 36.40 if u want to pay it of, but unless its a its some hundered dollar colage book i would just buy a new on.

psif u do want to pay fot it i would report my libray card missing so the price dosnt continue to rise
