How much would personalised California plates saying "Geelong" sell for in Australia?

As the title says, I have plates on my car "GEELONG" here (huge Cats fan) in California and am moving back to Australia later this year. I'm going to get regular plates for the car and keep the customised ones. I'm just curious as to how much they would be worth in AUS. Here they have little value, but back home where the Cats won the Premiership and being legit American plates, they may be a worthwhile collector item.

  1. $100-$200 because they are only decorative

cant be used here on a car

  2. I have had "GEELONG" plates on my car for over 5 years here in Kansas. Most people have no idea what the word means. I had to get special permission from the Kansas motor vehicle department to get the tag. Possible sexual references to Gee (its) long or something like that. When I proved that Geelong was a city in Australia and the name of a football team, I got to have the tags.

I don't think there would be much value for the plates in Australia since the plate would be invalid there. Same for mine, absolutely no value to a non-Kansas resident, also, the plates are non-transferable.

Just my opinion. Carn those Cats here in America!!!

  3. I'm not sure it could get quite a lot.

There's an Australian number plate "07GFC" number plate on eBay for 4,500 (Buy It Now, still no bids)

  4. I don't think many people in Aus would have any use for American plates whatever they say. Best to keep them.

  5. They are probably priceless mate.
