  1. Alice; I don't know how much you spend on a monthly basis but if your spending at least 25.00 a month between scratch tickets and weekly drawings then I want you to check out my yahoo group and you may be interested in getting involved in what we do.

search in groups under: masslotteryplayers    ( all one word )

    good luck regardless!

  2. If you are talking about instant (scratch) tickets (each pack are worth $300, the amount of tickets are determined by the denomination) keep in mind that the retailer makes $15 and the state lottery dept. makes $15.  So, out of the cost of the $300, only $270 are allocated to prizes.  So, if you bought a pack of 300 $1 scratch offs, you will likely lose $30.  Similar if you bought 150 $2 scratch offs, etc.

  3. For the Powerball, there are 21,137,943,750 different tickets.

I think tickets are $1, so that's over $21 billion. This is not a feasible method, as the jackpot rarely goes over $300 million

  4. It would depend which lottery game you were playing. A typical 6 balls from 49 game has 13,983,816 possible ticket combinations.

To guarantee you win the jackpot you would actually have to buy every single ticket. Of course if you did that you would also win the match 5 prize and the match 4 prize etc too. But you would still have to spend more on tickets than you would win in total, so please don't try this at home ;-)
