The measurements are height-18 inches , breadth -12 inches , length - 18 inches and thickness of glass is 5 mm.The glass is normal one and not the acrylic one.Indians are supposed to answer this question and tell me the cost in Indian rupees. The shopkeeper said the plastic top for the same tank would cost me Rs.250 and the tank would cost Rs.400(Glass is Rs.300 and pasting charges are Rs.100).Is it the correct price in the average Indian market?

  1. price in not bad its reasonable

  2. The actual rate depends upon the glass one is using. It is 5mm thick but rates for this thickness depend upon which company's glass it is.If ordinary glass is used, Rs 400-550/ rate for tank alone with top of plastik is o.k. Your tank will use 12 sq feet of glass & if rate is around Rs 25/- per sq ft, u may calculate the  costs yourself.

  3. India is a country where eating out of the garbage is considered fast food. Bearing this in mind, ANY sort of currency is welcome but India is also bent on a bartering system as the country is so "po dunk".

You can likely trade your way into getting that fish tank with food items. Given it's small size, I'd say a live, healthy rabbit should do the trick. Beef is the only forbidden item there. That rabbit could be prepared like chicken Tandoori, and the recipients of the meal would swear that there is a new MuSharraf (sheriff) in town!

    So, bring a rabbit.

  4. i don't think so ....my friend got a new fish tank few months back, and it was around Rs 300, and that too from Mumbai(Crawford Market) . it all depends upon the quality of glass that u are going for. also if you are going for additional items such as water pump, etc it might cost u a bit more.....:) well, all the best for ur new fish tank, hope u enjoy with ur fishes as well...

  5. Okay, so I've reported the muppet who gave the first answer.

Perhaps check ebay, and in local advertisering papers to get a rough idea :-)

    Hope this helps
