  1. If I had no kids or ties to stay where I'm at, I think that would be the funnest job ever.

    Cruise ships are the bomb!!

I've been on 2 cruises and had the best vacations ever.

  2. you can save all your wages if you dont spend any when the ship is at port

  3. Okay, so you're doing approximately a 5 month contract, you didn't say what job you were doing or how much you're going to make but there are a few things to keep in mind:

    - your cabin is covered, but you are expected to tip your cabin steward for cleaning your cabin (this can vary depending on the ship, but usually about $10/week),

-food is included too, but it's not usually the same food as the passengers (again it depends on the ship) and you'll probably get tired of it quickly & eat out more than you think; even if you do eat on the ship all time some cruise lines ask you to tip your servers as well,

-do you like to shop or see sights? The more ports you go to the more chances you'll have to spend money; don't forget even if you just like to look around you may have to pay for taxis or tours,

-finally there's a little thing called the crew bar which has claimed the paycheque of many a crewmember; it's cheap booze but when you start buying rounds it adds up fast.

So if you clean your own cabin, never eat off the ship, never shop or wander too far in port, and never party you can probably bank most of your paycheque. It's not as much fun, but hey, whatever floats your boat. Good luck!

  4. How much are you going to make to start with, better question is, do you know how much work you will have to do working on a cruise ship?

  5. if you will not spend money buying inside and out side the ship you can all of your salary for 5 months. ex. $1000/ month  x 5 you will have $ 5000, you will have free board and lodging........

  6. I really don't know how all that works out.  If I got a free room and food and I don't have kids.  I would save as much as I could.  I am sure that might be something I might have to buy that might not be supplied to me! Yeah, I would just buy that and save the rest
