  1. I have a two person team that comes 2 times a month and I give them $80/time.  They spend about an hour at the house, but when I get home it is spotless.  Just remember you get what you pay for.

  2. In New York I pay a woman $90 when she comes every two weeks.  I think she takes about 3 or 4 hours to do everything, but I am not there so I am not sure.  I wouldn't pay by the hour, because I'd like them to work fast and get out.

A guy I once dated pays $150 for about an hour or two's work every week in his apartment, but she wore bikini.

  3. I'd be willing to pay an amatuer cleaner 22$ per hour if they supply the cleaning supplies.

  4. I say a few bucks over minimum wage  until you prove yourself and then you can name your price. You will also have to figure in the cost of your supplies and travelling to your location. Getting bonded means that someone backs your integrity..

  5. I presume you mean pay!

Id give them a trial period with minimum wage and there wages after that would depend on how well they did there job!

  6. If the amateur does the job of the professional, then they are worth the $25 per hr.  You have to judge by the job they do.  Did you ask this person if they can be bonded or are they bonded?

  7. If I could afford it, I'd pay up to $15 an hour and I'd buy my own supplies.

  8. I wouldn't pay any more than $15.00 per hour for an amateur.  $20-$25 is the going rate for someone with experience.

  9. It depends on where you are. My dollars are not the same values as yours.

But I would not pay by the hour. Pay by the job, by the room or by the task.

I have a cleaner who comes in and does certain jobs: eg, cleans the oven, the bathrooms, does the vacuuming, dusts the furniture, takes away spiderwebs, polishes the mirrors, wipes down surfaces and microwaves in the kitchen. I fugure what I would be happy to pay for all that, especially if it is done well, and come to a figure she is happy to get for those tasks.

We come to an agreement. All those tasks for so many dollars. Every week or every fortnight.

She knows exactly what to do - I know exactly what to pay, and for what.

Then it doesn't matter if it takes her one hour or ten. For me, it's immaterial. For her, it's good to do it quickly. But because I want it done well, she does it well, but fast. We both win.

    I hope this helps.
